Going home in the New Year is a plot. In the 1980s, a factory technician Yu Zhenggao (Liang Song) and the female worker Tao Airong (Li Yeping) each took their daughter to form a new family. Yu Zhenggao's daughter Yu Xiaoqin (Li Juan) stealing money caused the quarrel between the couple. In the end, Xiaoqin planted Tao Airong's daughter Tao Lan (Liu Lin). Tao Lan was angry, killing Xiaoqin in his hands, and he was jailed. In the past 17 years, Tao Lan, who performed well, was allowed to go home for the New Year, but will this huge world of change still accept her?
