《天使追魂》是由著名导演内详导演的于1987年欧美地区上映的一部类型的恐怖片,由米基·洛克罗伯特·德尼罗莉莎·博内特夏洛特·兰普林普路特·泰勒·文斯主演,该片主要讲述了纽约，1955年，哈里安格尔是个私人侦察，专门调查离婚案。一天，一个自称叫路易斯赛佛雷的神秘外国人找到了他，要他去寻找一个叫弗沃里特的人，此人曾是个有名的歌唱家。安格尔根据赛佛雷提供的线索找到了医生福勒。福勒在透露了弗沃里特的行踪即此人已被他的女儿玛格丽特接走后不久，就被人杀害了。安格尔找到玛格丽特和黑人音乐家图茨，这两人随后也被谋杀。伊桑向安格尔透露，玛格丽特的寓所中保存着刻有死者姓名的军人身份证实牌。紧接着，伊桑被人溺死。安格尔找到了军人身份牌，令他吃惊的是，他竟在上面发现了自己的名字！他明白了，原来自己就是一直在寻找的弗沃里特。事情的原由是：弗沃里特曾同魔鬼订下交易，许诺以自己的灵魂换取在人间的辉煌成就。为使其兑现其承诺，魔鬼化装成路易斯赛佛雷使他经历了这场冒险，并让他在健忘症发作时谋杀了那些人。安格尔回到旅馆，等候多时的警察将其逮捕。
