剧情梗概：
在云南古城的清晨，几个年轻人开始了他们一天的生活：交警杨乐（余文乐饰）在执勤时爱上了接送孩子们的幼儿园聋哑教师秦小悠（高圆圆饰）；中日混血的大学生福田诚（铃木仁饰）进入某剧组，为日本明星水野裕子（三宅尚子饰）担任翻译助理。杨乐拜托表哥查问到了秦小悠的情况，并在小悠因身患绝症返回家乡时一路追随；福田诚受色咪咪的剧组男主角拖累，遭到水野裕子误会，然而他靠诚挚终于打动了后者。杨乐与小悠陷入爱河，二人有了爱情的结晶，然而此时小悠的病情恶化另一方面，水野裕子完成拍摄，即将返回日本。杨乐与小悠，福田和水野，四个年轻人站到了各自的爱情路口剧情版本二：幽美的古城小镇，幼儿园教师小悠(高圆圆饰)带领小朋友们列队穿过马路。执勤交警杨乐(余文乐饰)一边指挥交通，一边目送着他们，心里为能够见到小悠而兴奋不已。正当美好的爱情开始萌动的时候，杨乐却意外地从朋友处得知，小悠是一个有听说障碍的聋哑人大学生福田诚(铃木仁饰)是杨乐同父异母的弟弟，经副导演(王珏饰)介绍，成为日本演员水野裕子(三宅尚子饰)的翻译。两人的感情在异国小镇滋生、发展起来。随着电影关机的日子越来越近，裕子即将离开中国返回日本杨乐能否最终与小悠跨过障碍携手一生？大明星水野裕子能否放弃名利和福田诚走到一起？他们的爱情结局是喜还是悲？影片《男才女貌》用唯美、浪漫的镜头语言展现出两段不同寻常的爱情历程。影片评价：正面观点《男才女貌》看似普通，但是导演马楚成却把一个普通的不能再普通的剧本给导演活了，完全体现了他的导演功力。影片采用交叉的叙事，对两段爱情的游刃有余从容自如的驾驭，画面绝美（新浪娱乐评）。反面观点《男才女貌》是上世纪八十年代剧情，九十年代电影语言和21世纪初演员的一个矛盾混合体。很多地方都让人觉得充满矛盾、破绽。里面比较重要的辨识符号，看着都很老旧。从总体印象谈这部电影的话，是一部艺术和商业上都不会成功的电影（燕赵都市报评）。
