剧情梗概：
单亲姐妹莱拉（米莎·巴顿MischaBarton饰）和詹妮特（朱莉安妮·米歇尔JulianneMichelle饰）与身为摇滚乐手的母亲玛蒂（瑞贝卡·德·莫妮RebeccaDeMornay饰）住在一起，母亲热衷于镁光灯下的激情，性格奔放豪迈。可随着女儿逐渐长大并有了自主意识，母女的关系变得不再融洽。在一次小事件后，詹妮特自顾自找到一间便宜的公寓外住。然而入住当晚，詹妮特便被种种诡异事件以及这间公寓的旧闻所吓坏。当晚，她目睹神秘的女子黑影，遭受强烈撞击后昏迷。次日，詹妮特希望能回母亲家，结果遭到姐姐拒绝。她找来男友陪伴，半夜时分当男友外出时被恐怖的女性怨灵扔出窗外，坠楼身亡。 数日后，劳拉来到这间1303公寓收拾遗物，当她亲身进入房间后，才意识到妹妹所述的全部真实存在……
