剧情梗概：
白天给父亲洗游泳池挣生活费，晚上和一群狐朋狗友在一起狂欢。他没有自己的房子，只能跟母亲Virginia（MarthaPlimpton扮演）和父亲Burt（GarretDillahunt扮演）挤在一起。美丽的Lucy（BijouPhillips扮演）让Jimmy看到了生活的一丝曙光，两人仅用两个小时便坠入情网－－至少Jimmy觉得这是一次「美丽的邂逅」。可Jimmy很快就发现了Lucy的真实身份：她竟然是一个在逃的重犯！Lucy被警方抓获后，Jimmy的麻烦随之而来数月之后，Jimmy到当地监狱去探望Lucy，发现Lucy竟然已经生下了自己的女儿！Lucy很快将被执行死刑，抚养孩子的「重担」责无旁贷地落在Jimmy身上。不知所措的Jimmy将女儿抱回了家，但他的家人并没有对这个小家伙表示出任何好感。古板严肃的母亲Virginia十五岁时怀孕生下了Jimmy，不愿意帮Jimmy再抚养「另一个孩子」。父亲Burt虽然对自己突然当上「爷爷」并不吃惊，但他却担心这个孩子可能带有「孩子他妈」的「谋杀基因」。Jimmy的堂兄Mike对这个孩子同样没有好感，因为有孩子在，Jimmy就不能一天到晚跟他在一起鬼混了。祖母「MawMaw」（ClorisLeachman扮演）与这一家人联系不多，更是帮不上忙。如果Jimmy有勇气和爱捉弄老板的杂货店女收银员Sabrina（ShannonMarieWoodward邀请）约会，她倒是个帮Jimmy共同抚养孩子的「最佳人选」。Jimmy能当一个合格的好父亲吗？他的家人真那么铁石心肠吗？只有时间能给出答案

During the day, I washed the swimming pool for my father to earn living expenses, and at night with a group of fox friends and dog friends. He did not have his own house, and he could only squeeze with his mother Virginia (played by Marthaplimpton) and his father Burtdillahunt. The beautiful Lucy (played by bijouphillips) made Jimmy see a little dawn of life, and the two fell in love in just two hours -at least Jimmy thought it was a \"beautiful encounter.\" But Jimmy quickly discovered Lucy's true identity: she turned out to be a fugitive! After Lucy was captured by the police, Jimmy's trouble followed for a few months, Jimmy went to the hell to visit Lucy, and found that Lucy had given birth to her daughter! Lucy will soon be executed, and the child's \"burden\" will fall on Jimmy. Jimmy, who was at a loss, hugged her daughter home, but his family did not show any good impression on the little guy.
