剧情梗概：
香港庙街，鱼龙混杂。自幼在这里长大的阿庙（郑伊健饰）见识生活的残酷种种，父亲在他很小时被人当街砍死，母亲靠唱黄色歌曲养活儿子。年轻帅气且重义气的阿庙拥有诸多追求者，更有螃蟹（葛民辉饰）这样一个好朋友。阿庙生日那天，他在深圳放烟火时结识了美丽的富家女小篆（吴倩莲饰）。当晚，小篆被流氓骚扰，阿庙出手相救杀死流氓，因此入狱四年。四年后，阿庙出狱，此时小篆已经成为电台的DJ。通过电波，这两个互有好感的年轻人重新取得联系。然而他们毕竟身份悬殊，阿庙在小篆父亲的公司谋得一分职位，却无法适应这种所谓上流社会的生活。小篆的父亲为了让女儿和这个小流氓分手，不惜采取陷害的手段。阿庙因此被俘债务，甚至因此与庙街的黑道发生冲突。郑伊健与导演刘伟强在以《古惑仔》系列的电影成名之前合作拍摄的都市浪荡子电影，也有动作打斗场面，但主要描写郑与吴倩莲的爱情，再加上葛民辉从旁搞笑，有相当的娱乐性，但公映时反应平平。剧情描述王庙在三教九流出没的庙街长大，与专门在当地演唱黄色歌曲的母亲相依维命。偶然与好友螃蟹在海边拯救遭人非礼的女学生小，蟹错手误杀歹徒，庙代他认罪坐牢四年。四年后小在电台任DJ，仍不忘救命恩人，与庙重逢后迅速堕入爱河。但她父亲是社会名流，阻止女儿与庙来往，更将蟹打至痴呆，庙忍无可忍之下只好以暴易暴。
