Trailblazing fashion designer Amy Powney is on a mission to create a sustainable collection and transform the way we engage with fashion.
The designer of cult label Mother of Pearl, Amy Powney is a rising star of the London fashion scene. Winner of the Vogue award for Best Young Designer of the Year, she was raised on a remote, eco-friendly homestead by activist parents. That upbringing instilled in her an uneasy attitude toward the environmental impact of her industry. Powney invested her Vogue prize money into creating a sustainable collection – part of a campaign to transform the fashion business. Becky Hutner documents the challenges facing an artist and real-world influencer as she seeks to introduce change to the fashion world.
