The film was only allowed to be screened in Australia in the early 1980s. The film is based on the real deeds of the serial killer Ed Gein in the 1950s. Several young people - Sally (Marilyn Burns), Franklin (Paul A. Partain), Jerry (Allen Danziger), Kirk (William M. Vail (William Vail) and Pam (Teri McMinn), driving a RV into the desert town of Travis, Texas. On the way, a hitchhiker (Edwin Neal Edwin Neal) was covered with bruises and desolate.
